“Valerie and I worked together to prepare me for an audition with the Seattle Opera. She chose perfect music for my level of ability, personality and capabilities. Valerie was very thorough and knowledgeable in the vocal style required for the audition and suggested practical exercises to enhance my vocal technique. The end result was not only a call back, but a second audition which resulted in me being chosen to perform Porgy & Bess as a baritone in the chorus.
I would highly recommend Valerie to anyone seeking any type of musical endeavor. Her knowledge and experience is deep, her approach and presentation is personable yet very professional. She knows how to get results!”
I can’t recommend Valerie White Williams enough as a vocal coach. She is an incredible teacher who truly cares about her students and their growth, both technically and personally.
Working with Valerie helped me believe in myself at a time when I didn’t. She gave me the encouragement to keep going and supported me as I explored all aspects of my voice. Because of her, I was able to expand my classical singing ability and range as well as grow confidently in other styles.
What really sets Valerie apart is her versatility and openness. She’s a highly trained Opera Singer and Jazz Vocalist, but she’s also knowledgeable in rock , pop and other modern styles. As someone who’s goal at the time was to sing rock and metal, I never felt judged or out of place. Instead of shutting that down, she encouraged me to explore techniques like grit and distortion in a healthy, controlled way, something a lot of traditional teachers won’t touch.
She meets you where you are, whether you’re just starting out or already experienced, and helps you build both skill and confidence. She’s supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping her students reach their full potential!
If you’re looking for a vocal coach who will actually support your goals, help you grow technically, and make you feel confident in your voice, I highly recommend Valerie.
“Valerie Williams has been a voice teacher for my son, Jeremy, for several years. He is a drummer interested in singing and writing lyrics, as well, and turned to her to develop his voice. Valerie has offered great flexibility, adapting to his interests and needs, while providing him with good instruction and feedback about his voice and the types of music he wants to perform. I would recommend her as a voice teacher to anyone, adult or youngster, and can also strongly recommend her as a fine, caring human being — which makes so much difference.”
I was taking lessons with Valerie for 4 years, and she helped me become the pianist I am now. I still have a long way to go but her teaching was really helpful and I progressed quickly.
I worked with Val when I wanted to improve my solo vocal skills. She helped me widen my range and increased my ability to riff on a melody to make it my own. Val is extremely knowledgeable about vocal technique and could approach my stuck points from a number of different directions. I highly recommend her!
Valerie is a great teacher and vocal coach. I used her services as a supplement to the vocal classes I was taking at the Berklee School of Music Online. I still to this day use some of the exercises she taught me for warming up before a performance. All of my lessons with her were on Zoom since I live in Seattle and she lives in Ellensburg. Even if I have a question or want to work on something specifically I can always contact Valerie for her expert help.

“The best Queen of the Night I have ever heard in my life!”
Valerie’s energy, passion for learning, work-ethic, in-depth knowledge of the voice and styles, and can-do attitude make her an exceptional teacher. I would be comfortable recommending Valerie any time.
Valerie is a highly versatile and suberb vocalist and musician. Thats obvious upon hearing her sing in any genre. Wjat’s readily obvious, but so true, is her exceptionly high level of proffessionalism and commitment to excellence.
Washingont Academy of Music, where I teach, is a small, family owned, community music school. A few years ago we presented a very condensed verion of the opera, “The Magic Flute” with Valerie in the main role. Some singers would have probably given the role less than their full commitment.
Valere, on the opther hand, gave the role everything she had in both rehearsals, which were numerous and time consuming, and in the actual perfomances. In the end, I was pround of what was produced andso thankful she was a part of it as well. She saved the day literally.
I recmmend Valere whether you, the reader, need her as a voice teacher or performer. She will be there on time, fully prepared and ready to give her best every time.
Valerie has been a pleasure to work with as my vocal coach. It shows that this is what she loves to do. I’ve realized great results, and I highly recommend her services!
